Fujian Anxi, China |
It's finally here the punching fruity nector of this spring from Anxi. This year we selected two specially ordered batches roasted in a lower temperature for a longer time to extensify the charm of Anxi TGY. Grade B is already full of amazing aroma and brings clear and bright notes to your mouth. For those who are looking for much special one, the creamier, long-lasting elegant fruity flavor, Grade A is the way to go.

Starting with a subtle sweet almond flavour that becomes fruity and bright apricot by the fourth infusions. When you're in a mood for something not too flashy, but rather modest and slow with showing its merits, this one is for you. Sometimes you wanna drink something casually without too much effort and attention, still looking forward to the sudden moment that makes you realize how good it is with more infusions, with more lingering aftertastes, and so on. Wouldn't you?

One of the more roasted kinds of 2021 Laifufu Dancong. As a family of Tong Tian Xiang (Heavenlyaroma) kinds, it certainly has a little spiciness that linger at the tip of your tongue. Although it does not start out with strong fragrance, it has some very interesting christmasy flavours, such as Marzipan, cinnamon, and subtle gingery note. Maybe a perfect type to drink during Christmas season?!

This very unusual name of dancong is actually considered as one of the classical types of Fenghung Dancong. Its previous name was "Ao Ku Hou 凹堀后”, also known as "Ta Ku Hou 塌堀后” in Chaozhou dialect, which is a tea region relatively high 700 m above sea level. The name was originated from the location of its mother tree, which was located behind (hou 后) the dented or hollow cave (凹堀). It fragrance is very similar to the Huangzhixiang, but with its own rhythms and waves of its unique aroma and taste. Unfortunately, we could only source very small portion and only a very limited amount is available.

Yunnan Dali, China | 2020
This amazing and powerful tea represents a new oolong tea trend in China started only in 2003 at Yangbi County, Yi Autonomous Region in Yunnan. From the very beginning, all the teas planted in the rich soil of vast tea farm, situated 2300 m above sea level, have been grown 100 % organically, with no pesticide, and manufactured manually. This oolong appears rather vulgar, raw, and much less regulated or perfected compared to its Taiwanese or Wuyi equivalents, but its powerful aroma and long-lasting after tastes will truly surprise you. This is a type of tea that you don't wanna hear too much about, but just gotta try for yourself and find out, not only because it is not easy to describe this amazing tea's intense eye-opening flavour profile, but also because it is simply your loss if you don't give it a try.

Yunnan Yangbi, China | 2020
New addition to our beloved Yangbi Oolong Selection. It's still from the same year 2020, but the ole~ Tie Guan Yin Cultivar with much lighter roasting compared to others from Yangbi. It certainly has the typical flowery and fruity notes of TGY, and yet loaded with rich and nutritious notes from Yangbi terroir with the altitude between 2400~2600m, which creates a much milder and richer version of TGY.

Yunnan Dali, China | 2020
One more addition to the amazing Oolong tea collection from Yangbi, Yunnan in China. Very interesting batch that is definitely worth to be compared to its Taiwanese counterpart from Alishan. All these beautiful bug-bitten leaves from organic farm located high up in the mountain valley with altitude of 2300m are skilfully roasted (medium-dark roast) to bring out fruity fragrance and very long lasting after taste. The typical milky note of Jinxuan is not really standing out in the beginning, but slowly and subtly unfolds as the Gongfu session continues. Not tightly and perfectly rolled as Taiwanese Jinxuan, but these loosely and even ugly looking tea leaves are reminding us of a saying that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
